Nalgonda: Avoiding a direct reply on the alliance with Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the State during 2019 elections, BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday said that their focus was to strengthen the party and they are in opposition in Telangana. He was equally non-committal with regard to continuing the alliance with TDP in Andhra Pradesh.

Amit Shah, during a press conference, said that for the present alliance with TDP in Andhra would continue. BJP, which is in opposition, in Telangana, will be focusing on strengthening its structure to form the government after next elections.

“BJP is standing before people of Telangana as a strong alternative,” he said. When the scribes tried to seek clarification, he said, “Maine jo kahna tha kahe diya.”

Replying to another question, Amit Shah said, “BJP is always against reservations based on religion.” However, he welcomed the decision of the state government to increase reservations for Tribals.

When asked about the allegations of Congress party that he was using the word 'Razakar' for dividing people on the basis of religion, Amit Shah said, ''So far I have not used the word Razakar during my speeches but I will say now... we have total respect towards martyrs of Telangana.

We cannot forget the atrocities of Razakars. If the Congress party has any objections let them issue a press statement on that,” he added
