Delayed, incomplete and ptchy work by Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) while digging the roads for laying new pipelines, is creating commotion to daily commuters. Despite regular inspections under the surveillance of Managing Director of HMWS&SB, Dana Kishore, work is left unattended while to digging roads in new places continues. Responsible water board officials for the issue refrained from commenting.

Meher garden road at Uppal, Kalyanpuri colony, Chilkanagar towards Nacharam Industrial Area and Kapra are among few colonies across the city which still remain patchy after delayed works for laying new pipelines for water connections. Loose sand from the left over digging is settling all over the roads making it difficult for the daily commuters. Rohanth Kumar (28) who travels to Nacharam from Uppal via Chilkanagar regularly narrates his fear of driving on sand.

"Drivers loose the grip with the road due to the sand, especially bikes. Road is narrow with RTC buses travelling all the time. Every moment there is a fear of losing balance," he says. He added by saying that he has been observing such a situation for 3 weeks now. A similar situation was observed at the Neredmet X roads where roads remained broken for months together until recently.

Reforms were recieved last week to the area as the chief minister (CM) of the state is going to visit the place soon. Aditi Bharadwaj (24), a local resident of Neredmet says, "For 3 months the dust kept flying due to the digging. Last week new roads were built within 2 days as the CM is going to visit the place soon. I wish he takes a city tour for once."

While new lines have started to be dug in Kapra which have been going on for 2 weeks now, people from the above mentioned places have doubts of whether the roads there are ever going to be repaired. When approached the water board officials with this regard, they refrained from making a comment by pushing the responsibility over higher officials. Managing Director of HMWS&SB, M Dana Kishore has been conducting inspections regularly at various places in the city with regard to this and yet incomplete works remain unattended.
