Hyderabad: The land registration scam related to Dandumailaram lands in Ibrahimpatnammandal, involving Goldstone Prasad and his family, took a new turn with the names of family members of TRS leader and Rajya Sabha member, K Kesava Rao coming into the picture.

Goldstone Technologies registered 50 acres land in survey number 36 of Dandumailaram in the name of GadwalaVijayalakshmi, daughter of Kesava Rao (KK), his daughter-in-law, Jyotsna and some others.

On Saturday, Keshav Rao, in a strong rebuttal to allegations that he had indulged in illegal land deals, said that land was purchased after making proper enquiries with the Revenue officials and also after the High Court directed the sub-registrar to register the lands. He also said that suspension of incharge sub-registrar SalehaQadeer amounts to contempt of court.

He said nearly 38 acres of land in Ibrahimpatnam purchased by his daughter G Vijaya Lakshmi and daughter-in-law Jyotsna was not a controversial land and is free from all disputes. Agreement to purchase the land was done in 2013 and the registration was done in 2015. His family members have purchased nearly 50 acres of lands, he said.

Keshava Rao said that the land was purchased after getting all clearances from the government departments and the High Court too had declared it as private land. He also denied reports of State government suspending some officials for this land deal.

As a Member of Rajya Sabha, he has lot of respect for the law and he never violated any rules, the TRS leader said. He also produced documents pertaining to the clearances given by State Revenue Secretary and Ranga Reddy Collector. Rao said ' We obtained all necessary permissions and produced all required documents before Sub Registrar for the registration.' It would be a contempt of court if the land registration is cancelled.

He will also bring to the notice of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and counter all allegations against his family,
he said. Rao said the land was purchased to set up a solar power plant. When reporters flooded him with questions, the emotionally surcharged TRS leader challenged that he would move the High Court or Supreme Court if any attempt is made to cancel the registration of the land.
