TPCC celebrates Rahul’s birthday

Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) celebrated All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s birthday on a grand note on Monday at Gandhi Bhavan. Former PCC chief Ponnala Laxmaiah cut the cake along with party senior leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Ponnala said the sacrifices of Gandhi and Nehru families would stand permanently in the history. He said the Gandhi family had the history of sacrificing their lives for the sake of the nation. The AICC chief Sonia Gandhi had the history of scarifying the Prime Minister’s position, he said.

Alleging that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s family had the history of selfishness, Ponnala said Rao left his assurance of making a Dalit as the Chief Minister to the winds. He said that they would take Chandrashekar Rao’s family rule issue to the people.

Meanwhile, the Youth Congress celebrated Rahul Gandhi’s birthday on a grand scale at Gandhi Bhavan. Youth Congress State president Anil Kumar Yadav cut the cake in the presence of Youth Congress activists and students who attended the programme in huge numbers.

The Youth Congress leaders distributed school books to the students on the occasion. Ponnala Laxmaiah, Mahila Congress State president Nerella Sharada and several party leaders attended the programme. On the other hand, APCC president Raghuveera Reddy cut the cake on the occasion at Indira Bhavan on the Gandhi Bhavan premises.
