The State continued to receive excess rains with average seasonal rainfall at the end of June being 188.8mm as against a normal rainfall of 128.3mm, surplus by +47%. Out of 584 mandals, 69% of mandals (405) received excess to large excess rainfall, 20% of mandals (117) received normal rains, 10% of mandals (58) received deficit rainfall and one percent of mandals i.e. four received large deficit rainfall.

The highest rainfall of 88.8mm was recorded at Soan (Nirmal) on June 24 during the week. Based on the Weather Model run at TS Development Planning Society (TSDPS) of Planning Department and other available numerical guidance from national centers (IMD and other centers), it indicates that, with the shift of monsoon rainfall activity to northern parts of the country, subdued rainfall activity is expected to continue during the week, mostly over central and southern parts of Telangana State.

According to Y V Rama Rao, consultant, (weather forecast/analysis) of TS Development Planning Society, from July 1 to 7, 18 districts - Hyderabad, Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Rajanna- Sircilla, Nagarkurnool, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Nalgonda, Yadadri-Bhongir, Jangaon, Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet, Suryapet will receive light rainfall at a few places.

During the same period, 13 districts - Adilabad, Komrambheem-Asifabab, Nirmal, Peddapalle, Karimnagar, Jagtial, Mancherial, Jayashankar- Bhupalpally, Warangal (U), Warangal (R), Mahabubabad, Bhadradri- Kothagudem and Khammam will experience light to moderate rainfall at a few places.
