Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and ITC are jointly conducting an awareness programme at Shilpa Kala Vedika on July 18 to headmasters and teachers of 2,000 schools on separation of wet and dry garbage.

Municipal Administration &Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao, Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, solid waste management national level expert Almitra Patel, Swachh Bharat Mission joint secretary Praveen Prakash, State Municipal Administration Department Secretary Navin Mittal, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, Water Board MD M Dana Kishore and School Education Commissioner G Kishan would participate in the programme.

On the occasion, the GHMC will launch WoW (Wellbeing out of Waste), clubs that extract wealth from waste garbage in 2,000 schools. The organisers will set up Bala Swachhagrahis to take up Swachh programmes.

Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, local MP K Vishweshwar Reddy, local MLA Arikepudi Gandhi and others will participate in the programme, according to an official release issued here on Sunday.
