KAS Sastry has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Excise in the united Medak Excise Department to tackle production, supply and consumption of drugs like Ganja, Charas, Cocaine, LSD and others.
Speaking to media here on Thursday, KAS Sastry appealed to the people of the three districts to contact Deputy Commissioner and Excise Superintendent on 9440902739, 9440902745 to share any information regarding individuals supplying banned narcotic substances.
He said ganja trade in Narayankhed area had almost been controlled due to the hard work done by the department in the past couple of years. He also pointed-out some instances where cocaine, alprazolam and other banned substances were seized from industrial areas of Sangareddy district.
He also hoped to receive some proactive help from Food and Drug enforcement agencies so that a joint effort would be made to address the issue. He appealed to one and all to fight the drug menace and inform the police about any activities relating to narcotic drugs.
He said the new round of enforcement was being undertaken on the orders of Excise Department Director Akun Sabarwal.
