Hyderabad: Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya on Monday spoke to Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj informing her that one Macha Manjula, resident of Kushaiguda, Hyderabad has been detained illegally at Doha, Qatar by her Kafeel (employer) with whom she was working as domestic maid.

Bandaru Dattatraya informed Sushma Swaraj that Macha Ravi, husband of Macha Manjula has represented him that an agent named Sattar, who escorted Macha Manjula from Hyderabad to Doha, promising her employment with huge salary collided with the Kafeel after working as domestic maid for three months at the later’s residence detained her. Her mobile phone was also seized by her Kafeel. After relentless efforts by the grief stricken family members and her children to talk to Manjula and release her from Kafeel's captivity are seeking the intervention of External Affairs Ministry, Govt of India.

Sushma Swaraj acted swiftly and entrusted the job of rescueing her and initiate action for her early and safe deportation to Mrudul Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs Govt of India.

In turn, Mrudul Kumar alerted the Embassy officials in Doha, Qatar and requested them for necessary action.

Bandaru Dattatraya, who left for New Delhi on Monday, is also further pursuing the matter with Ministry of External Affairs.
