Hyderabad: Telangana Prohibition & Excise Director Akun Sabharwal has expressed resolve to curb the drugs menace in the State.

Addressing the CBSE Principals Conclave here on Friday, Sabharwal asked the teachers to keep a vigil on their students and notice changes in their behaviour.

Sabharwal said that the Excise Department did not issue notice to any student in the Drugs cases which were busted recently. Further, he said the names of schools and pubs where the drugs were being supplied were not made public. He said that the investigations into the Drugs case was going on in full pace and charge sheet would be filed against all accused by this December end.

The Excise Director said that the SIT has so far registered 11 cases and arrested 22 persons in connection with Drugs menace. He said evidences and witnesses against the accused persons would be produced in court after consulting legal experts. He said it was not yet established whether the film personalities who were questioned by his department were accused or witnesses in the drugs cases. He said that the SIT was also waiting for the forensic reports.
