Mahbubnagar: BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Saturday alleged that large-scale corruption to the tune of Rs 2,500 crore took place in the electro-mechanical works of the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) and presented 217-page evidence to support his allegations.

Addressing the media at the BJP office here, Nagam said that he was ready to go to jail if anyone proves the evidence submitted by him to the media were proved to be wrong. He termed the scale and magnitude of the corruption taking place in the lift-irrigation scheme was unprecedented in the country.

He alleged that the Government of Telangana has been increasing the estimates of the scheme according to its whims and fancies without any validation. He contended that the project became controversial right from its inception.
He also contended that he had submitted all evidence pertaining to the lift irrigation scheme to the Chief Minister on May 26 and June 30.
