Vikarabad: The district Collector Divya on Tuesday directed Tahsildars to speed up the clearance of files related to the bereaved family members of farmers, who committed suicide and insisted that the compensation payable to the families should be cleared at one go.

In a meeting with Tahsildars, the bereaved family members, officials of welfare departments held at the Collectorate, Divya asked the officials to take urgent steps to issue widow pensions to wife in case of suicide death of a farmer. The essential commodities should be given to them under the Antyodaya Scheme.

The loan eligibility cards should be given to the legal heirs of the tenant farmer, who committed suicide. She assured support to the bereaved family members on behalf of the district administration. She directed Tahsildars to issue virasat to the bereaved family members in a week mutating the ownership.

She asked the officials to reconsider the rejected applications in farmers’ suicide cases. The Tahsildars were asked to send proposals to purchase land for the landless poor. The officials were asked to register criminal cases against the unlicensed money lenders.

She asked the welfare department officials to ensure the children in the bereaved family members were enrolled in residential schools. The officials should extend the necessary support to the bereaved family members. The welfare officials should speak to the bankers and support them financially.

She interacted with the bereaved family members to enquire their family conditions and financial status.
