Centre to hand over Bison lands for new Secretariat
The Centre has agreed to hand over Bison Polo Ground for the construction of a new Secretariat and required lands for the expansion of Karimnagar Rajiv Rahadari and Medchal highways.

The Centre further stated that it would also favourably consider the request of the Telangana State government for reduction of GST on the Public Utility projects and would take appropriate decision.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who is in New Delhi, called on the Union Finance and Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday and discussed the issue of Defence lands and reduction of GST on Public Utility projects with Jaitley.
According to Chief Ministers office, the Union Minister assured that the Centre would consider favourably the two requests made by the State government. Jaitley also informed the Chief Minister that the Centre had examined the request for handing over Bison Polo ground from all angles and decided to hand over the required land.
Jaitley said the decision on the request for the reduction of GST on Public Utility projects such as Mission Bhagiratha, Irrigation projects, road works would be taken up after discussing the matter in the GST Council meeting to be held in Hyderabad on September 9.
Arun Jaitley said the GST on the construction works is reduced from 18 per cent to 12 per cent in response to the request made by the Telangana State government. He said a decision would also be taken to further reduce it from 12 per cent to 5 per cent.
The Chief Minister thanked the Union Minister for agreeing to handover defence lands to the state government and his assurance to consider positively on the GST reduction.
KCR said the Centre had recognised the importance of having a new Secretariat and expansion of Rajiv Rahadari, Medchal highways.
He hoped that the GST council would also take a favourable decision on the GST reduction to Public Utility projects in its meeting to be held in Hyderabad.
Chief Advisor to the State government Rajiv Sharma and Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao accompanied him when he met the Union Minister.
