It was a day of political speculation. Hyderabad: It was a day of political speculation. On one hand, the political circles were abuzz with the talk that the TRS would confer cabinet status on Gutta Sukhender Reddy and make him the convenor of Rythu Samkshema Samiti and this would result in a bye-election to the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat. The TRS would use the opportunity to prove its hold over the electorate as the TDP had done in Nandyal.

On the other hand, there was speculation that Komatireddy Venkatreddy would meet the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on September 17 as the Reddy brothers are contemplating joining BJP. However, when contacted Sukhender Reddy and Venkatreddy denied the speculation. Meanwhile, working president of Telangana unit of TDP in a surprise move called on the MIM floor leader in Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi and was closeted with him for about two hours.

It was a one-on-one meeting and Revanth Reddy refused to comment on what exactly the purpose of the meeting was. However, Revanth made some sensational comments saying that there was no need for a state BJP unit in Telangana. The BJP he said was adopting double standards.

Referring to the praises showered on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the TRS policies by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Revanth said it is surprising to see that the state BJP leaders criticise the ruling party and say that they will come to power in 2019 but on the other hand the BJP leaders who come from other states praise the government and its policies. He said the TDP would never join hands with such a party in Telangana.

BJP MLC N Ramachandra Rao condemned the comments of Revanth Reddy. He said politically the BJP was opposed to KCR and TRS party, but government to government relations are always different as Modi has said Sab ka Saath and Sab ka Vikas. “What Bihar Deputy Chief Minister observed were part of government to government relations. I feel what Revanth Reddy had said is his personal opinion and not that of TDP,” he said.
