Hyderabad/Machilipatnam: Former Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah has demanded that the book written by controversial author Kancha Ilaiah should be banned. He also demanded that the author should tender unconditional apology to Arya Vysyas in the country and consign his controversial book to flames.

Rosaiah, who was in Machilipatnam to take part in a programme on Sunday, warned Ilaiah that the Vysyas would not keep mum if he becomes a pain in the neck. A bitter lesson would be taught to Ilaiah if he did not tender apology to the Vysyas. He said that the former professor’s behaviour was unbecoming of his profession.

Meanwhile, the Arya Vysya Hakkula Sadhana Samithi is seriously considering legal action against Ilaiah as his controversial work hurt the sentiments of the people of Vysya community.

The Samithi’s founder-president, TG Bharat, on Sunday told The Hans India that they will move the court seeking registering an FIR against the author.

“We will file a petition in Kurnool court on Monday. We are ready to move the Hyderabad High Court, if necessary. Our agitation will continue until proper action is initiated against Ilaiah,” he said.

Various Vysya organisations from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana held a round-table meeting in Hyderabad and thoroughly discussed the issue.

TDP MP TG Venkatesh took strong exception to the remarks made by Ilaiah. The author’s description is triggering clashes between various communities, he said. “I will take this issue to the Prime Minister’s notice and raise the issue in Parliament,” he announced.

The MP said that the author has been making baseless allegations and hurting sentiments of other communities without knowing the facts.

The meeting unanimously condemned the remarks made by Ilaiah and decided to put up a strong fight until the controversial book is withdrawn.

They demanded Chief Ministers of Telugu States to take action against Ilaiah. Former MP Girish Kumar Sanghi, Nizamabad MLA Ganesh Gupta, Tollywood actress Kavita and others took part in the meeting.
