Hyderabad : Deputy Chief Minister (Revenue) Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Wednesday admitted that there were certain lapses in the distribution of sarees among poor women on the occasion of Bathukamma festival.

Speaking while participating in the saree distribution programme in Malakpet Assembly constituency here, the Deputy CM said distribution of over 1 crore sarees in a short time was a gigantic task and some mistakes do occur in executing such programmes. Describing this as routine, he assured that those mistakes would be not be repeated in future and women would provided high quality sarees next year.

Mahmood Ali said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has decided to distribute sarees among poor women to add to festive mood for Bathukamma.

MIM MLA Ahmed Balala, RDO Chandrakala and GHMC Corporator Sunitha Reddy also participated in the programme.
