Gesturing people to make way and stopping motorists until the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus passes, Devi, as she likes to call herself, could be passed off as a police constable but as one stops for a few minutes, one realises that her demeanour suggests there is something unusual.

Mentally unstable but not harmful, Devi has been holding guard at the Clock Tower Junction in Secunderabad from 7:30 a.m. till 12 o clock. When we asked her from where she received the uniform, pat came the reply, “Of course! The department supplies us. Why do you ask?”
Inspector Ravi of Mahankali police station says, “We too have noticed. Unless an NGO comes forward and takes her under their wings, we cannot do much.”
A worker from the nearby Bata showroom says, “There were several attempts by people to stop her from coming here but to no avail.” Ravi, a psychologist says, “One would have to trace her childhood. Many a time people who nurture dreams of donning a police uniform go to any extremes and it could just be the same in her case.”
Spotted in police uniform, when The Hans India lensman started taking pictures, she immediately pulled out a pair of fake RayBan sunglasses and wore them, much to the amusement of one and all at the spot.
