All set for grand Bathukamma bash: Talasani Srinivas Yadav

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Friday said, `the State government is conducting Bathukamma festival on a grand scale to spread its culture all over the world.’

The Minister inspected arrangements for Bathukamma festival at the Necklace Road, Karbala Maidan in Ramgopalpet division and other places under Sanathnagar Assembly constituency which is represented by him.

To mark the festival of flowers, the government plans to distribute 1.04 cr sarees to women. Sarees were already distributed at many places a few days ago. A large number of women will participate in Bathukamma festival and suitable arrangements are being made in coordination with several other departments.

Srinivas Yadav asked the officials to make necessary lighting arrangements, impose traffic regulations at various places and provide drinking water on the occasion. He also asked the Traffic Police to regulate traffic for smooth flow and ensure that the festival would not be disturbed.

Talasani asked the GHMC officials to repair Bathukamma Ghats for smooth immersion of Bathukammas on the Necklace Road. He said thousands of women celebrate the festival with devotion and gaiety.

Besides, Telangana women are celebrating Bathukamma festival in foreign countries spreading our culture and tradition, he said.
