The Met department bulletin on Friday warned of thunderstorms very likely to occur at some places across Telangana State during the next 24 hours.
Hyderabad: The Met department bulletin on Friday warned of thunderstorms very likely to occur at some places across Telangana State during the next 24 hours.
The bulletin said an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the south-east Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood at 7.6 km above the mean sea level (MSL). The trough from Vidarbha to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema is also persisting. Yet during the last 24 hours the Southwest Monsoon was weak over Telangana.
According to the bulletin, isolated rain occurred in Nizamabad district, with Varni and Kotagiri recording five cm of rainfall each. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Nizamabad, Jukkal 3 each, Renjal, Navipet, Pitlam, Birkoor, Sadasivanagar, Makloor, Dichpalle, Gandhari 2 each, Bodhan, Nandipet, Jakranpalle, Lingampet, Yedapalle, Banswada, Nizamsagar, Velpur, Yellareddy, Sriramsagar, Dharpalle, Tadwai one each.
