Komatireddy to organise 'Chalo Assembly' rally on Oct 27
Congress senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday announced that he would organise \'Chalo Assembly\' rally on October 27 on farmers\' issues.
Hyderabad : Congress senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday announced that he would organise 'Chalo Assembly' rally on October 27 on farmers' issues.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises, Komatireddy said nearly two lakh farmers would participate in the rally which is being organised on the first day of Assembly session. He alleged that the TRS Government has completely neglected the farm sector in Telangana State. He said standing crops spread across thousands of acres were damaged due to recent heavy rains. However, he said the State Government neither enumerate the losses nor paid any compensation.
Komatireddy said that the 'Chalo Assembly' rally was being organised to pressurise the government for payment of Minimum Support Price for cotton, paddy and other crops.
Reacting on Telangana TDP Working President A. Revanth Reddy's possible joining of Congress party, Komatireddy said he was completely unaware of the development and therefore, would not comment on it. Stating that the Congress was over 125-year-old party and produced many prominent leaders, he said the entry of any leader into the party would only boost his image among public.
Komatireddy also dismissed speculations of his resignation from the party. He said Congress party has full democracy and all leaders raise their issues in party fora without any fear or favour.
