Hyderabad : Telangana Agros chairman and TRS senior leader Kishan Rao has accused TDP and BJP leaders of trying to create a communal divide by distorting history of erstwhile rulers Nizams.

Addressing a press conference at TRS Bhavan on Saturday, Kishan Rao said erstwhile Hyderabad State was ruled by Nizams for a very long period. During their rule, the Asaf Jahi Kings constructed irrigation projects and other public utility buildings which are still serving the common people. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has praised Nizams due to their services for the people. However, he alleged that TDP and BJP leaders were trying to give a communal twist to the issue.

The TRS leader said Nizam Sugar Factory, Azam Jahi Mills and other industries were started during the Nizams' regime. However, they were shut down during TDP regime. He said while BJP ruled the State for 19 years, BJP was in power at the Centre for several years. However, he said both the parties never took measures to revive those industries.

Kishan Rao said it was unethical on the part of TDP and BJP leaders to criticise KCR for praising the good works of Nizam for political mileage.
