Hyderabad: Private college students along with their teachers and institution’s management representatives have chalked out a plan to take out a procession and christened it as “4LB” soon. It is intended to focus the public attention on abnormal delay on the part of the government in releasing funds for fee reimbursement. The date and time of the programme will be fixed later, according to organisers. The “4 LB” stands for “four lakh beggars.”

Organisers claim that students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Economically Backward Classes will take part in the programme in large numbers. Those who participate in the programme will beg for alms on the streets of the State capital, the organisers say. The organisers observe that they have come up with the idea in the backdrop of the police denying permission to stage protest in any form.

Students, according to organisers, will explain to the people that they are unable to secure their certificates even after completing the course and they cannot apply for jobs notified by the State government. Teachers register their protest over the delay in getting their salaries due to the government not releasing the funds for fee reimbursement scheme. The management representatives will explain to people that the government has not released the funds to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore and as a result they cannot pay salaries to the teachers regularly.
