Hyderabad: Security in the twin cities has been beefed up for the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit which is scheduled to take place on November 28. In the wake of Ivanka Trump’s visit by a chartered plane, security authorities at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in coordination with local police are making elaborate security arrangements. The surrounding areas of Falaknuma Palace are under the security scanner. West Zone DCP Satyanarayana said American security forces would arrive in a couple of days and they were fully equipped with the details of Ivanka’s tour programme.
On the other hand, a mock drill was conducted at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport recently. According to sources, it was the full-scale Anti-Hijacking Exercise (AHE) for the year 2017. Stakeholders like CISF, the State police, SIB, NSG, ARFF (Airport Fire Wing), Apollo Medical Services, GMR Security/RAXA, AAI, State Fire Service, AOCC, GHIAL/GMR, Airside Operations/GMR, Terminal Operations/GMR, BOI, RAW and BCAS participated in the security exercise. As many as 374 security personnel took part.
