Hyderabad : TRS senior leader and Government Whip in Telangana Legislative Council P. Rajeshwar Reddy on Thursday accepted the challenge of Congress leader A. Revanth Reddy for an open debate on drugs mafia in Hyderabad.

Speaking to media persons at TRS Legislature Party office in Assembly premises, Rajeshwar Reddy claimed that the TRS Government has curbed the drugs mafia while putting an end to gambling and other illegal activities. He alleged that the previous TDP and Congress regimes never took measures to curb drugs culture. However, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao took measures to clean the society from such illegal activities. He said the Narcotics Department did place Hyderabad under Drugs' Zone. He said he was ready for an open debate on the issue with Revanth Reddy or other leaders at any time.

Criticising TJAC's proposed meeting of jobless youth, he accused TJAC Chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram of misguiding the youth. He said that the Chief Minister has already taken steps to provide one lakh jobs and therefore, the TJAC's meeting on the issue was meaningless. He said it would be inappropriate to hold a meeting on November 28 as it would coincide with the Global Entrepreneurs Summit being addressed by Prime Minister Narender Modi, US President's daughter Ivanka Trump and other dignitaries.
