A policy on electric vehicles is likely to be launched by the Telangana government next month proposing benefits for manufacturers and placing the necessary support system.
A policy on electric vehicles is likely to be launched by the Telangana government next month proposing benefits for manufacturers and placing the necessary support system.
Speaking to the media, IT and Industries Principal Secretary, Jayesh Ranjan stated that the Electric Vehicles (EV) policy is ready and the transport and municipal administration departments are currently evaluating the proposal.
Mentioning the policy’s components - for manufacturers, users and support mechanisms, he said that they are planning to launch it by the end of December.
He further said that the state government is expected to announce various sops for the EV manufacturers along with support system providers and if needed, also make necessary regulations.
The Principal Secretary opined that EVs would be pivotal in the last mile connectivity for commuters of Metro Rail.
