Hyderabad: Suspense continues whether AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Chief Ministers of neighbouring Tamil Nadu and Karnataka would be invited to the three-day Global Entrepreneur Summit (GES) beginning on November 28. As the official host of the international summit, the Telangana government has the authority to invite CMs, ministers, state government officials and domestic entrepreneurs from the neighbouring states and also across the country.

Officials of the Telangana Industries and Commerce department told The Hans India that nearly 150 entrepreneurs from the three neighbouring states have already been invited to attend the summit. From Andhra Pradesh alone, 50 to 70 entrepreneurs are expected to take part in the summit to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump on the inaugural day.

“It is the discretion of the Telangana government whether or not to invite the CMs of other states. Initially, the government planned to invite a few CMs and ministers of other states. The issue is still pending before the government,” an official said, adding that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to take a call on the issue in a day or two since it also required the maintenance of protocol, including special security arrangements during the visit of the VIPs to Telangana.

As only four days are left for the inaugural of the summit, officials said that a decision in this regard would be taken only after consulting the state police, intelligence and protocol departments which are overseeing the security and accommodation arrangements for delegates. The officials maintained that elaborate arrangements have already been made for all the domestic entrepreneurs.
