Hyderabad: President of India Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed birthday greetings to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and wished him a long and healthy life.

The President has conveyed birthday greetings to KCR over phone on Saturday morning, said a press release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

Huge crowd and hectic activity was witnessed at Pragathi Bhavan, the official residence of the Chief Minister, on his 64th birthday as TRS activists from all across the State gathered there to greet him.

The Chief Minister began his birthday celebrations after performing 'puja' early in the morning at Maisamma Ammavaru temple in Pragati Bhavan complex. Later he met his cabinet and party colleagues who included Deputy Chief Ministers Mohd. Mahmood Ali and Kadiam Srihari and a host of Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs in large numbers.

Senior IAS and IPS officers also joined the crowd which gathered at Pragathi Bhavan to greet the CM.

Nizamabad MP and CM's daughter K. Kavitha and the Ministers Talasrinivas Yadav and A. Indrakaran Reddy performed special poojas praying for KCR's health and long life at Mahankali temple in Secunderabad. They performed a homam also in the temple. At Jalavihar, party loyalists distributed sarees among poor women and tri-cycles for the physically challenged.
