Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced that all the newly distributed pattadar passbooks to farmers will be linked to Aadhaar cards. The Chief Minister instructed the officials concerned that farmers having assigned lands should also be given passbooks without fail as is done with other farmers.

The Chief Minister chaired a review meeting on the proposed distribution of pattadar passbooks at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday. The Chief Minister said there are some people who are not coming forward to link their Aadhaar cards to passbooks, it is mandatory that Aadhaar cards be linked to the passbooks, failing which their lands would be identified as Benami. “It is decided to link Aadhaar card to maintain accurate land records.

But, some people in Medchal and Ranga Reddy districts and some other districts have not linked their Aadhaar with the records. Such people should give their Aadhaar details to the officials at the earliest. Lands of those, who have not liked their Aadhaar, will be treated as Benami lands,” the Chief Minister cautioned.

Every entry in the passbook should be scrutinised thoroughly and there shall not be any mistake or error, K Chandrashekar Rao said. The assignee farmers will also get new passbooks, this will take some time, he added. He instructed the officials to speak to the District Collectors and get the required and accurate information.

Clarity should be given on the rights of ownership of the assignee farmers, the Chief Minister added. The Chief Minister instructed the officials not to commit any mistake or errors in the passbooks distribution which will be conducted on March 11 in the State.

There is no objection even if there is some delay in printing the passbooks for the assignees but examining the entries in the passbooks should be thorough and in detail.
