Hyderabad: Senior Resident Doctors staged a protest at Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) on Monday for not registering their degrees. They said that the State government had passed the bill and released the Gazette on the same. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had announced that government was recruiting doctors on permanent basis and there was no need of senior residents.

Dr P S Vijayender Goud, Chairman Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) said that senior doctors were getting benefited with the decision as TSMC was delaying the registrations. Neighbouring Andhra Pradesh already started registration of senior residents and in Telangana it is not yet started and we are unable to apply for various jobs in State and Central level, he said. Doctors allege that TSMC was not responding despite several representations. DR Govind, Dr Desham, along with other senior residents participated in the protest.
