Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna had to face the wrath of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) party men for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Besides, the party MLC Ramachandra Rao lodged a police complaint against the actor turned politician, about 200 BJYM activists stormed the residence of the TDP MLA in Jubilee Hills here on Saturday.

Tension prevailed as the slogan shouting BJYM activists staged a protest in front of the MLA’s residence bringing the traffic to a grinding halt on the busy road leading to the Jubilee Hills check post. About 100 cops led by Banjara Hills Assistant Commissioner of Police deployed sensing the trouble at the MLA’s residence had a tough time when the protesters found Balakrishna in his vehicle.

Slogans like “Balakrishna down, down”, “BJP zindabad” resonated and the angry protestors had physically stopped his vehicle demanding him to get down and tender an apology for using abusive language against the Prime Minister. Continuing their protest, the BJYM activists organised a sit-in protest. However, they were arrested and taken to the Banjara Hills police station.

Meanwhile, the BJP MLC N Ramachandra Reddy has lodged a complaint in the Osmania University police station against the TDP MLA and said the actions of the TDP MLA amount to inciting people besides using unparliamentary language constituting a crime. Hence we lodged a complaint and demanded his arrest.

Meanwhile, the BJP leaders termed that the TDP MLA has lost his balance of mind by using such an abusive language. BJP TS official spokesperson R Sridhar Reddy demanded Balakrishna to tender an apology for his remarks against the Prime Minister. If the TDP MLA fails to tender an apology the BJYM activists will stage protest wherever he goes and will not allow him to move in Hyderabad until he tenders an apology," he said.

Meanwhile, the party units in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have decided to organise protests in both the Telugu states against Balakrishna's remarks against the Prime Minister on Sunday.
