The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with its implementing agency AES will be running free summer courses in Computer and English Reading and Writing for special needs children at the National Park for People with Special Needs in Malakpet. Malakpet MLA Ahmed Bin Balala will inaugurate the summer camp on May 5.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with its implementing agency AES will be running free summer courses in Computer and English Reading and Writing for special needs children at the National Park for People with Special Needs in Malakpet. Malakpet MLA Ahmed Bin Balala will inaugurate the summer camp on May 5.

A fun filled summer camp will be conducted from May 5 to May 15 for special needs children and activities include music and dance, singing, painting, fancy dress, art and craft. The summer courses and the camp will be free for all special needs children. More than 500 children are expected to attend the camp. National Park for People with Special Needs is a first of its kind park in India to provide recreation and therapy services for special needs people under one roof.

It has barrier free environment with wheelchair track. The unique feature of this park will be inclusiveness with inclusive play space designed not only for special needs but also for other children to play together. Play equipment like slides, see-saw and jungle gym are also available at the park. The entry to this park will be free.

Vocational training block wherein the services like physiotherapy consultation and treatment, speech therapy, psychological assessment, counseling, audiology testing, behaviour therapy for special needs children with free consultation and vocational training for children above 15-year is also provided.
