Union minister for Road Transport, Highways and Water Resources Nitin Gadkari on Saturday laid the foundation stone for expansion of Amberpet, Uppal flyovers along with the six laning of Aramgarh-Shamsabad section of NH 44 between Hyderabad and Bengaluru and rehabilitation and upgradation of NH 765D from Hyderabad outer ring road to Medak.
The ceremony witnessed Deputy Chief Minister Mohamad Ali, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao, Minister for Roads & Buildings Thummala Nageshwar Rao, Uppal MLA Prabhakar and Amberpet MLA Kishan Reddy in attendance.
Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for the double-lane national highway of Hyderabad-Orr-Medak section of the 62.92-km stretch. Its construction cost is estimated at Rs 426.52 crore. With the construction of the road, the connection between Hyderabad, Narsapur, Kodipally, Appalajpally, Rampur and Medak towns saves travel time with no traffic problems.
On the Hyderabad-Bangalore national highway, the six-lane highway stretching the 10.48 km stretch of Aramgarh and Shamshabad section will be built on the EPC system. Its estimated cost is 283.15 crores. The state government will release Rs 50 crore.
The most important road connecting the state capital to the Airport will be constructed with advanced facilities such as a 1.2 km long elevated corridor. Three fly overs will be constructed across the road. The aim is to complete the project within 24 months.
Next is the construction of a four-lane flyover at Amberpet-X Roads over 1.465 km long with an estimated Rs 186.71 crore. In addition to construction cost, Rs. 40 crore will be spent on land acquisition. The total project cost estimated at Rs 226.88 crore.
The six-lane elevated corridor of 6.25 km will be constructed from the Uppal junction to the CPRI in Warangal Road. Its estimated construction cost is Rs 626.76 crore. The cost of land acquisition is Rs 768.26 crore while the cost of construction is being borne by the central government. The state government will build a flyover from Metro at Uppal junction. It is expected to cost Rs 311 crore.
