Huge rush to banks puts officials on toes

The Syndicate Bank officials faced tough time on Friday as more than 500 farmers visited to the bank in Jadcherla. With poor network at their disposal, the bank officials expressed their helplessness in helping the farmers.
“It is really a tough time here at the banks. More than 500 farmers came to the bank for depositing and withdrawing the Rythu Bandhu cheques, an official said. A famer, however, demanded that the bankers open more counters to help the farmers.
The bankers were caught unprepared as they did not expect such huge crowds of farmers rushing to the banks to encash their cheques. They, however, assured the district officials that they would open more counters from Saturday.
