The two persons, one of whom visited Kerala recently were admitted to hospitals in Hyderabad with suspected Nipah virus infection. However, the National Institute of Virology in Pune has ruled out the Nipah Virus' presence in the city after the tests.

Nevertheless, the Telangana health authorities have advised people to avoid visiting Kerala.

Campaigns are being held by the Health Department officials to create awareness among people about Nipah virus and caution people against visiting Kerala particularly the affected areas, at least till the dreaded Nipah virus comes under control.

The authorities have advised people to take all precautions, including avoid eating cut fruits, washing of fruits and vegetables and also avoid pork.
