Officers asked to take up land acquisition as per revised Act

Rajamahendravaram: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Rekha Rani has said as per the directions of Central Water Commission (CWC), revised land acquisition should be taken up in connection with Polavaram Project. 

Speaking to officials of revenue and water resources department of Polavaram Project here on Thursday, she asked the officials to complete the land acquisition process of left and right main canals of Polavaram Project immediately. 

She also directed the officials to submit necessary details relating to Land Acquisition Act 2013 and underlined the need of some amendments to Land Acquisition Act 2014. The government is very much particular about land acquisition issues and asked the respective officials to work with commitment in this regard. Lapses relating to land acquisition at any level will be viewed seriously, she added.

Sub-collector C M Saikanth Varma said steps will be taken to set right things relating to land acquisition relating to Polavaram Project as per the directions of the government. Officials of water resources department Nagi Reddy and others were present.
