Hyderabad: Telangana Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy condemned the gunning down of Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma by the Maoists in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
He said the Telangana Police are in a state of high alert. Naini said there are no reports of Maoists movement in the State.
However, the state DGP alerted the district SPs to be cautious and be ready to meet any untoward incidents posed by the Maoists.
The Home Minister said DGP M Mahendar Reddy was constantly reviewing the situation with the DGs and SPs and through video conference he is taking the latest inputs from the district police officials on the situation on a regular basis and making tight security arrangements.
