Hyderabad: Launching a tirade against Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana BJP president Dr K Laxman said that Uttam was daydreaming that his party would come to power by asking the Congress cadre to work hard for 60 days.

Addressing the media here on Monday, Laxman said people of the State and elsewhere in the country were not in a mood to believe the lies being spread time and again by the Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and the party leadership.

“People have made their intentions clear by defeating Congress in the east, west, south and north of the country, then, how can it expect to take people of Telangana for a ride?” he asked.

He said the Congress was voted to power for 10 years, but its rule in the State and at the Centre was riddled with corruption and scams.

After the formation of Telangana, when people asked it to sit in opposition, it was hand-in-glove with the ruling TRS and failed to function as the main opposition in the State.

Calling the Mahakutami suggested by the Congress as ‘Vishakutami’, Laxman sounded a caution to Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president N Kodandaram against joining the grand alliance of Congress, TDP and CPI, as it might undermine the Telangana agenda of TJS in the eyes of people.

In turn, it would become an advantage for the ruling TRS, he said.

Predicting TRS was destined for a vertical split, Laxman pointed out that people of the State could sense the sublime message of Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao’s outbursts at a public meeting to quit from the politics.

Taking a dig at Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao, the State BJP chief asked him to introspect before calling BJP a ‘Jhoota’ party.
It was the TRS which suits the best to be called as ‘Jhoota’, as it had made false promises like making a Dalit chief minister, double bedroom houses, filling up one lakh and odd vacancies in the government offices etc, he said.

Later, he welcomed several persons from Gajwel Assembly segment into the party fold.
