Quthbullapur: The BJP leader of Mallampet village, Pratap, along with his 200 followers joined the Congress party on Wednesday in the presence of former MLA Kuna Srisailam Goud and sarpanch, Ramu Goud.
The new entrants to the Congress stated that they were joining because of ‘good qualities’ of Goud. They pledged to work for his success in the ensuing elections. Addressing them, Goud alleged that the ruling party had opted for early polls because of its failure to honour its promises, while appealing to voters not to believe the wrong claims of the pink party leaders. He promised to stand by the electorate if they ensure his win.
Among those present were former municipal vice-chairman T Lakshma Reddy, Pratap, Janardhan, Prabhu Kumar, D Sudhakar, Prakash Mudiraj, Sairam, Vijay Goud, Ajay, Ramulu Goud, Mohan, Umesh, Raviteja, Surya, Siva Ganesh Magi, Sanjay, Vinod, Bhaskar, Upender, Raju, Madhu, Purshotham.
