Khammam: Every police personnel must wear helmet and seat belt when they are driving the vehicles and stand as role model to others, said Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal and issued the orders here on Friday not to allow any police official and staff member of the Police department into the police commissinerate who do not wear helmet and seat belt.
Receiving the orders, the officials of Armed Reserve Force arranged a notice board of “No Helmet-No Entry” here at the main gate of Khammam Police Commissionerate on Friday and are suggesting the police personnel that wearing helmet is compulsory to get entry into the Commissionerate.
Tafseer Iqbal, in a recent meeting stated that every year many people died in accidents as they did not wear helmets and seat belts and also due to over-speed and rash driving, bike racing and drunken driving.
The youth and students must be taught about traffic rules and road safety measures from their childhood onwards to prevent road accidents, he added.
It is to be noted that under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of police (Traffic), Sada Niranjan, several awareness programmes are being conducted about the traffic rules and consequences of drunken drive in various educational institutions under the Commissionerate limits for students to prevent road accidents.
