Hyderabad: Leaders of the proposed alliance have continued their discussions on Friday without success on seat -sharing as agreement on number of seats to be given to Telangana Jana Samithi has eluded the meet.
According to sources the leaders failed to come to an agreement on the number of seats to be given to the TJS. While TJS has been seeking about 8 seats, the Congress is not inclined.
PCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, TJS president Kodandaram, Telugu Desam president Ramana and CPI state secretary Venkat Reddy met at a hotel on Friday afternoon.
The talks were shifted to the residence of former CLP leader in the Assembly K Jana Reddy in the evening. According to party leaders Jana Reddy had a one on one meeting with the TJS president Kodandaram on seats issue.
Sources said that the TJS wanted Warangal East, Miryalaguda, Malkajgiri, Peddapalli / Ramagundam, Station Ghanapur / Wardhannapet, Mahabubabad/ Aswaraopet, Malakpet / Nampally / Amberpet, Khairatabad / Jubilee Hills, Mudhole, and Jadcherla / Mahabubnagar.
However, among them Congress has its own strong candidates for Khairatabad, and Jadcherla. The Congress was not so keen to give as many seats to TJS as it did not have winning chances in them according to its surveys.
The Congress leaders are trying to convince the TJS to change its list or to reduce the number of seats it wants to contest. It did not want to give a chance to TRS to win the constituencies being allotted to TJS.
