Gajularamaram: A stone-laden tipper crashed into an electric pole in Sivasai Hills Society of Devendernagar on Sunday night. The impact was such that the pole broke into bits and the wires fell on the ground. Luckily, none was injured in the incident.
Locals told The Hans India that the tippers carrying sand were making daily trips to and from the quarries during the nights. They are apprehensive and fear accidents if the vehicles keep moving in residential localities. The residents pressed for action by the police and administration against such vehicles.
When THI contacted AE, Transco, Nagi Reddy, for his reaction, he confirmed the mishap and expressed doubts over identifying the offending vehicle. Reddy stated that a similar incident had occurred two days back. The department would lodge a complaint to the police, he said while appealing to people to provide information to the department when such accidents occur.
