Asifabad: With 78th death anniversary of Komaram Bheem, who fought against the unjust policies of the Nizam government, falling on Wednesday (October 24), the tribals lament there is no change in their living standards.

The tribals criticise the officials of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) of utter negligence in solving their issues. Tribal legend Komaram Bheem’s native village Jodeghat of Kerameri mandal and the surrounding 13 villages for which he fought against the Nizams, are still turmoiling in problems without even basic facilities. They are still facing water scarcity, irregular power supply, no medical aid, no education facilities.

50 per cent villagers of Jodeghat have no pakka houses, seven villagers are not getting crop loans due to lack of passbooks. Every summer season is a hell for them as they have to walk miles to fetch drinking water due to dysfunctional water schemes.

Speaking to The Hans India, Soney Rao, the grandson of Komuram Bheem, said that ITDA officials and leaders of all political parties will remember Komaram Bheem and his contribution, during his death anniversary and will give lengthy speeches on the welfare of tribals and they are gone. “And we remain the same,” he lamented.
