Medchal: District Collector Dr MV Reddy on Friday directed the officials to immediately take up road repairs. Addressing a review meeting in the collectorate on road repairs, attended by R&B officers, District Panchayat Officers (DPO) and Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs), he said that people have been experiencing severe hardships using the roads because of the potholes. Reddy directed the R&B officials to immediately take up the repair works.
The district collector pointed out that accidents were also taking place because of lack of sign boards, besides the dividers and grown-up trees are also hampering travelers and causing severe inconvenience to them. He asked the DPO to take up repair works of gram panchayat roads. He suggested that trees on roadsides be marked to present an attractive look. Dr Reddy ordered issuance of notices to contractors for failing to complete the Panchayati Raj department works, despite signing agreements. He warned to take action against all those responsible soon after conducting a surprise inspection of roads.
