Kukatpally: Free public WiFi is now available for 45 minutes at the following stations - Miyapur, JNTU, KPHB, Kukatpally, Balanagar, Moosapet, Bharath Nagar, Erragadda, ESI Hospital, SR Nagar, Ameerpet and Nagole. As a project, L&THMRL, powered by ACT has set up the WiFi connections at more than 12 metro stations. The user has to create login credentials while travelling and then use the WiFi experience at the metro station.

Those wanting to use the facility have to go through a one-time registration process. The facility would be exclusive to commuters and can be availed only in ticketed areas. A passcode will be sent to the number which needs to be keyed in for the net connection. So far, the installation has been completed in more than 12 stations. The service seemed to be same across the entire station even including inside the metro.

Sanjana Tiwari, a student said, “Every person seems to be busy but when they take a break and come at the metro station they are busy using wifi which is for 45 minutes and if any documents which are to be send through laptops can be sent easily through the WiFi connection for the college work.” At times the server is down, because of the heavy internet traffic continuous use of internet by people. Pratap, an employee at TBSS, said, “Most of the time I use WIFI to watch videos in free while commuting through the metro station which passes time easily till I reach my office.”
