Singareni bags India’s Best Company Award
The Singareni Collieries Company Limited SCCL has bagged the prestigious India Best Company Award by the Berkshire Media Private Limited, Americas leading multinational brand consulting and market research firm, for the year 2018
Kothagudem: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has bagged the prestigious India Best Company Award by the Berkshire Media Private Limited, America’s leading multinational brand consulting and market research firm, for the year 2018.
In a press note released by the company at its corporate office in Kothagudem on Friday, the company informed that the award would be presented on March 8, 2019 at Leela Hotel, Mumbai amidst all the leading dignitaries. It said Berkshire Media Chief Executive Officer Hemanth Kaushik has invited Singareni Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar to receive the award.
Every year Berkshire Media carries out a detailed survey and analysis of the performance of Indian companies, and based on the growth, it selects the best company to present the award. Previously L&T, Hindustan Lever, Tata Consultancy, Tata Steel, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Indian Oil Company were some of the organisations that received the prestigious award.
Recognising Singareni for its monumental growth and a company which contributes to the financial development of the country, the expert committee selected Singareni Collieries as ‘India’s Best Company’.
In 2017-18, Singareni achieved 646 lakh tonnes of coal transport, 620 lakh tonnes of coal production and a turnover of Rs 22,667 crore with a profit of Rs 1,200 crore which is a record in the history of Singareni. This is much more when compared to year 2013-14.
When compared with the financial year 2013-14, there is a remarkable growth in the year 2017-18 with an increase of 34% in coal transport, 22.9% increase in coal production and 186% increase in profits. In recognition of this achievement, the Singareni has been chosen for the ‘India’s Best Company Award.
Recognition is for collective work: CMD N Sridhar The Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL, N Sridhar, expressed his happiness for Singareni being selected for the award. Telangana State under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is surging in the direction of growth and is receiving many national awards and praises. Further, it was all possible only with the collective effort of company officials and staff and the award is purely for their hard work, stated the MD.
