Gudur team has won the Palakurthy constituency level volleyball tournament organised at Dharmapuram village of Devaruppula mandal in the district.

Palakurthy (Jangaon): Gudur team has won the Palakurthy constituency level volleyball tournament organised at Dharmapuram village of Devaruppula mandal in the district.

The event was organised by Janga Yuva Sena, Banjara Yuva Sena and Sneha Youth Club, marking Sankranthi festival. The prize distribution ceremony was held on Friday.

The DCC Bank Chairman and the constituency Congress in-charge Janga Raghava Reddy attended the ceremony and distributed the prizes.

A team from Edunutula village stood at second place while team from Ippagudem stood at third place. Winning team was presented prize money of Rs 5,116 while teams standing at second and third places were given Rs 3,116 and Rs 2,116 respectively along with shields.

Similarly, the winners of Sankranthi Rangoli Competitions Ch Saritha, Yakamma and A Anusha were also given cash prizes by the DCCB Chairman.

Speaking on the occasion Raghava Reddy lauded the organisers for conducting the events to promote sports and young talents.

Devaruppula mandal Congress president A Suresh Babu, ZPTC Nalla Andalu Sriram, Youth Congress president V Arjun, leaders G Yakaiah, P Krishnamurthy, V Mallaiah, Jatoth Ravi and others were present.

Later on the day, the DCCB head office in Hanamkonda, the bank chairman has released Telangana State Co-operative Central Banks Employees Association (TSCCBEA) Warangal unit’s 2017 diary and appreciated the efforts being made by the employees towards the growth of the bank.

The DCCB governing body members K Janardhan, P Srinivas, Neeraja, the bank CEO R Yadagiri, the employees’ union chief vice-president V Surender, the district president Md Ayub, state committee member G Sravathi and the bank staff were present.
