Hanamkonda: Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna has called upon the students to explore their potential to become entrepreneur. He told the students to be job providers instead of job seekers.

There were many programmes designed to help students to develop their entrepreneurial skills. Students should come forward to use all facilities and approach banks to set up enterprises to become part of development of Telangana State.

Prof Sayanna addressed a large group of students at the one-day ‘Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme’ organised by University College of Commerce and Business Management of the university here on Wednesday. The event was sponsored by National Small Industries Corporation Limited.

While appreciating the students for attending the programme, he said it shows their keen interest to learn new things. Every student has got potential to become a successful entrepreneur and what they need to do was to sharpen their skills.

The university was committed to give value addition to students, the Vice-Chancellor said adding the University College of Commerce and Business Management has been doing its best in equipping the students with additional skills.

Presiding over the programme, the College Principal Prof Sharma Veluri said entrepreneurship was believed to be a inborn quality on olden days, but now everyone could become a entrepreneur by proper training. That was why the government has taken initiative to orient student about entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurs need not be commercial they could be social, cultural, religious, spiritual and political, he added. Sriramula Srinivas delivered the key note address. Professors N Hanumantha Rao, M Subramanya Sarma, P Krishnama Chary, K Sayulu, S Kamaleshwar and Ch Rajesham, senior faculty K Raji Reddy and about 150 students from constituent colleges have taken part in the programme.
