Huge response to Warangal 5K Run
A ‘5K run’ organised by Warangal police Commissionerate here on Monday got a huge response from the youth in the city.
Hanamkonda: A ‘5K run’ organised by Warangal police Commissionerate here on Monday got a huge response from the youth in the city.
The Commissionerate has organised 5K run for boys and 2.5K run for girls as part of the preparations for the State-level Police Sports Meet to be held from March 3 to 7. The Commissioner of Police, G Sudheer Babu, flagged off the run at district police parade grounds.
The run concluded at the Commissionerate after covering several thoroughfares in the city.Cash awards worth Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 were presented to those, who stood at first, second and third positions. In boy’s category - G Vijay Kumar, Sravan and P Ramesh and girl’s category - A Swampa, P Usha Rani and A Kameswari came first, second and third respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner, Sudheer Babu has thanked the citizens of the city for their active support to the Commissionerate police’s people friendly policing measures. ‘It gave me immense pleasure that 121 youth trained freely under Commissionerate’s Sumarg programme and succeeded in police constable’s examination and secured jobs,’ he said.
The youth should look forward for such job opportunities and utilise facilities being provided by the police department as part of social responsibility.
