Karimnagar: Tenant verification programme was launched to maintain law and order and to have complete details of locals along with migrants, who have been living here under Commissionerate limits, Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy said.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the CP said the Tenant Verification programme will be highly helpful to prevent activities of criminals, thieves, cheaters and terror elements by indulging in sabotage and terror activities aiming at mass killing by taking shelter as tenants in urban areas.

The programme is already in practice in several cities in the country like Delhi, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thane, Jammu & Kashmir and in Punjab.

He also said that the tenant verification programme is a free service provided by the police department. Any citizen can approach the police by filling a form, which is available at all police stations and also on police website.

The applicant will be given information through email or sms or through letter about the verification, he added.

The tenant verification programme protects the citizens from the activities of anti-national, anti-social and terror elements along with criminals.

Hence, he requested the people to make use of this free service and help the police in making Karimnagar a safe city.
