Karimnagar to plant 1.1 crore saplings

Presiding over a review meeting with district officials at Collectorate, the Collector said 78 lakhs of saplings were planted last year in the united Karimnagar district under Haritha Haram.
But this year, the officials must take steps for planting 1.10 crore of saplings at various locations in the district, he suggested.
He directed the officials concerned to appoint Haritha Protection Committees in all villages immediately by identifying places in and around the villages for planting of saplings.
Make all arrangements for distribution of saplings, fruits and flowers yielding to every household present in the 272 village panchayats across the district, the Collector said.
