Karimnagar: Three teenage boys drowned in an irrigation pond at Pallimakta village in Rajanna Sircilla district on Friday, police said.
The police said that the incident took place around 12:30 pm soon after Enganti Sanjeev, Kudukala Manohar, and Kudukala Raju (all aged 15) entered the pond for swimming.
The trio didn't realise the depth of the water and drowned soon after, Konaraopet police station sub-inspector B Ramesh said.
He said the deceased trio were 10th class students of government high school in Suddala village. Ramesh said the villagers fished out the bodies of Sanjeev, Manohar, and Raju out of the pond with the help of local police, and were subsequently sent for postmortem at the government hospital in Sircilla.
